Frequently asked questions....to start your culinary vacation quietly

How much experience cooking do I need to have?

All you need is a love of good Italian food and an desire to learn. Our Cooking Classes welcome all skill levels and allows for an rich learning experience.

Is there an age requirement to attending the Culinary Vacation?

Students/guest of all ages are welcomed. Culinary Vacation rates apply to all guests.

What language is used to teach the Cooking Classes?

We have the honor to have both Italian and English speaking chefs, assistants and staff.

Where is the closest airport?

FCO – Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport Fiumicino/Rome, Italy is the closet airport at 1.5 hours away.

Do I have to rent a car or secure any transportation?

Casa Gregorio provides transportation to and from the airport/trainstation and to all Cooking Tour outings. If you have an desire to do any other actives, you will need to secure your own transportation.

When is the best time to visit?

Any time of year is a great time to visit Casa Gregorio’s Culinary Vacations.

Is there a dress code?

During the Cooking tours, you will want to plan accordingly for outings that include walking and visiting local markets and gardens. During the cooking classes you will want to be dressed comfortably and in something that does not inhibit your range of motion. Many guest select to change into something different for dinner, but never formal and always an expression of guest’ individual style.

Are there accommodations for guest with special dietary request or needs?

Casa Gregorio is available to meet the needs of our guest. Please just let us know your request prior to booking and we will do our best to accommodate the request.

Do I need to bring an converter or an adaptor for electrical appliances?

Casa Gregorio is equipped with standard European plugs that can support 110-240 volts. You will need to be sure to have an European adaptor for your specific electronic device.

Are pets allowed?

Casa Gregorio does not allow pets, with the exception of guide dogs. Casa Gregorio’s host Gregory does have two dogs at the residence, but they do not interact with guest at any time.

What methods of payment are accepted?

All forms of payment are accepted including: cash, money order, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard) and wire transfers. Personal Checks are NOT accepted.

Do I need to bring any other form of payment?

Your payment covers airport transfer upon arrival and departure; transportation to all Culinary Tours; all food consumed at the Casa Gregorio and special group meals; Beverages including coffee, tea, water, soda and wine*.

(*One bottle of wine per guest per day is included in the rate. Once the daily limit is met by the group, any additional wine would be at the cost of the guest.)

Do I need to take travel insurance?

We strongly recommend that you have travel insurance, should you be unable to attend your Casa Gregorio Culinary Vacation and therefore lose your deposit, course and accommodation payments, and other travel costs. Casa Gregorio is not liable nor responsible for these losses or costs.

Will you permit your guest to use your WiFi?

Casa Gregorio offers free WiFi to all guests.

Will I be allowed to use the kitchen or laundry facilities?

The kitchen is not to be used by guest at any time. Guest are only allowed in the kitchen during cooking classes. Guest can not go into the refrigerator or collect any food… Guest can not use the laundry facilities. Laundry services are available for a small fee ($15.00 per load of laundry).

What items are provided in the rooms?

Each room comes with: beautiful furnishings, flat screen TV (with local channels only), shower or bathtub, free wireless internet.
